Telling Your Story: Personal Essay Writing Workshop
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify and define the elements of the Writer’s Practice: Attitudes, Habits of Mind, Skills and Knowledge
- Incorporate the Sense Memory exercise into their writing to add detail and specificity to their personal writing
- Utilize the Experience vs. Memory exercise to interrogate their memories and add depth to their personal writing
- Engage in metacognitive reflection on their work in order to continue to develop their writing practice
